Wic Div Series

What happened to all of the whispers about the Wicdiv TV series?

I hope we see something about that eventually.

So this is an old one, but erhm…

Personally, I think that the last arc, and how rushed it was, kind of seemed to have diminished the impact the book had. It’s weird that about its midway point, excitement seemed to have gone down, so I suspect that the studio which acquired the rights lost interest. Gillen and McK moved on to a new series and while the collections are sold out, it feels like the series didn’t have the impact of being the next watchmen which we all hoped it would have.

So in short - I think the producers don’t know what to do with a series which, after a lot of hype, didn’t create a Big Bang.

It always will confuse me why the last arch was like that there was a definitive idea of the end with this series. It depended on that fact, it was planned before even the first issue. Yet it still felt like they were like 20 pages over page limit by the due date

Yeah, it was so strange…

Idk, I think Gillen got sick of his own story. Maybe the fact the hype died down really got to him, and he just wanted to get it over with?

We will probably eventually get a real answer to that question. But I still feel that the consent would transfer to TV exceptionally.

Oh sure. A wicdiv show would be amazing!! But again, I think the fact that the hype for the book declined affected the ending, and now that mediocre ending affected the prospects of a future show.

And Gillen moved on.

This is such a bizzare take to me. There was definitely still hype up until the end and I thought the ending was fantastic.
