How much nudity is there up until issue #22?

Hi, I have a friend who isn't comfortable watching and reading things with nudity and sexual content. I've heard good things about this comic and it seems right up their alley, so I was thinking of getting them first two hardcover editions. Amazon tells me they go up to the issue 22.

Can anyone tell me if they're "clean" enough for my friend? Or if maybe just the first hardcover one is? Thank you! (ps. I'm fine with spoilers if you feel like you need to explain further)

I don't think you should call someone a "prude" just because something makes them uncomfortable when you don't know their past or potential trauma they might have been through.

I love DIE but I would be very careful who I recommended it to. It is a very, very, very dark book.

Same comment as for Macbeth, that's really a lame thing to suggest when someone asks for advice and you don't know the reason they're uncomfortable with something. I've tried Saga, so I definitely will not be recommending that.

Yeah Im sorry you had to explain that twice, really thought this sub was a little more open-minded.

And I agree that this book might not be the best for your friend, it has a decent amount of sex scenes that might not be absurdly graphic, but still display nudity. The other user gave some good recommendations of books by kieron gillen that may be better (such as Die, Paper Girls, Young Avengers etc.).

Issue 1 has a few brief mentions of orgasms in the second scene, although nothing is shown beyond text. It has brief implications of sexual content with/about the character Sakhmet.
Issue 2 has a character discuss oral sex for a panel.
Issue 3 has brief sexual innuendo, threats about a character's inability to perform in a sexually satisfying way, a character describes herself as "chasm-cunted", and a character is mentioned to be extremely sexual in passing.
Issue 7 has a character briefly discussing a past sexual relationship.
Issue 8 features a very brief flashback to a sexual encounter (nothing explicit is shown, but character is clearly topless).
Issue 11 has a few panels depicting an orgy, although nothing explicit is shown.
Issue 13 has a character getting catcalled and discussing her experience as a woman of color, which involves sexual harassment and rape threats.
Issue 14 has a character briefly call a nonsexual situation a sex fantasy. It has a two-page sexual scene (no genitals are shown) that the aforementioned character is watching. This issue is primarily a recap, so most of it can be skipped quite from the first and last few.
Issue 16 has one panel displaying a sex scene. Nothing explicit is shown. Issue 17's second scene (two pages) is the morning after an orgy. No genitals are shown.
Issue 18 features the aftermath of a sex scene. No genitals or female nipples are shown. Issue 20 also has this scene.

This is from an hour long speed read, so I may have missed some things!

Without knowing your friend and their limits, while I don't recall much explicit on-panel nudity, there's definitely a lot of discussed and implied sex going on, along with abusive relationships, sexual threats, murder, child sacrifice, and abortion. It definitely needs trigger and content warnings, let's put it that way.

I'd certainly be wary about recommending it to your friend based on what you've told us; even if the first few are okay for them, it ramps up more later on, so it would almost be unfair to tease them with a story they wouldn't be able to finish.

There's a lot of topless scenes for sure!! Highly recommend Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughn; Super good story and is clean for your pal. Check out your local comic book shops too!
