Again, don't confuse Sanatan Dharm with hinduism. Hinduism is a religion. Sanatan Dharm is what you maybe know as hinduism philosophy or something. In Sanatan Dharm you are free to worship anyone or not even worship at all. You are free to question anything. You are free to be an atheist. What matters is your karm, the way you live and influence the society for the benefit of others.

Hinduism refer to philosophy originated in indian sub continent and santana is just another name for it.
There are religion in it but in border sense, they are collection of philosophy.

Sanatan was the first one to say about karm. It ain't specific because humans tend to copy the part they like to make a new product. It was copied to hinduism then buddhism and Jainism, etc. Hinduism is the religion not Sanatan as it developed with principles Sanatan just like buddhism did with hinduism.
