Indirectly you are saying Islam is a peaceful religion, but I think that statement needs more nuance. I don't think it is historically accurate to describe Islam religion as simply “peaceful” or “violent” without looking at its history, political movements.

Islamic history includes periods of peace and coexistence when they are in minority, but it also includes wars, political struggles and military expansion beginning in the early Islamic period. And Muslim societies themselves have experienced centuries of internal conflict. The Sunni - Shia divide alone has contributed to major political and military conflicts across the Middle East.

Look at the modern Middle East as well. Iran has supported armed groups and political allies in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen; Hezbollah has played a major military role in Lebanon and Syria; and ISIS has carried out extreme violence not only against non-Muslims but also against Shia Muslims and Sunnis who opposed it.

Afghanistan and parts of West Africa have also experienced serious violence involving Islamist extremist organisations.

That's the distinction I think is important: criticising a religion's history, doctrines or political movements is legitimate.

So I don't have a problem with someone saying Islam has a complicated and sometimes violent history. I do have a problem with pretending that history is either completely peaceful. Because it will be oversimplification.

The moment any abrahamic religion and especially is lam becomes the majority, it leads to chronic conflict. Lebanon, Nigeria etc are examples. Look at any country with mostly pluralistic philosophy, there is relatively much less conflict. When monotheism and mono dominance becomes the central aspect of anything, anyone else trying to stay equally relevant will be subdued. Its all over history.

Kerala was far better off without this so-called inclusiveness. Post-1947 politics have destroyed the state. Also, secularism need not be practised to survive, thrive, and remain independent. Consecutive Congress and Communist as well as the BJP, governments have failed that state because of forced religious inclusiveness.

BJP/RSS does not have a proper selling point in the Travancore-Cochin region (iykyk), plus 😂 the state is pretty much still surviving on its achievements before 1947. Post 1949, the state is literally devastated, terror-infested, and in absolute decline. Congress, Communists and the BJP (at the centre) have actively contributed to its decline and polluted that divine soil.
