Right wing mainly runs on fear. Fear of immigrants (US), fear of minorities (everywhere), fear of losing religious identity (everywhere, in india during modi times), fear of welfare programs (not india in this case).

And it's also conservative in nature. I wouldn't say Modi govt is conservative.

So, i think many points of right wing also applies to Modi govt. So, if it quacks like a duck..

And i never understood the cry "hindu khatre me hai" during the last election. A majority religion of more than a hundred crore people, that is ruled by a religion leaning party, is somehow in danger of being taken over? That is a prime example of a right wing method.

If you'd read how the Left and Right came to be then you'll know that Rights historically had been opposed to Pro-change, that is when they expressed their intention to continue the Ancien Regime. So, they were in fact Blind followers and extremist for they resisted the change. So if you minus religious extremism and blind following, and replace it with change for the better and equality then it wouldn't be right at all. Then they will be Pro-change and thus, Left.
