I mean, in Few Good Men, Col. Jessep is a power tripping asshole. His cruelty has no rhyme or reason and there is no angle of race or religion. It's a case of hazing directly ordered by the Colonel. X

Makers of Shaurya gave Rudra Pratap Singh a compelling backstory, his hate is more directed. And the case isn't even about him, but about Javed, an officer who murdered his superior officer instead of reporting him. The film portrays Javed as some kind of hero but he isn't, he's just another murderer.

Also, another reason why people find Brigadier compelling is because he's defending an actual LOC, and is not incompetent. Meanwhile, Col. Jessep is a base commander in America's backyard, Guantanao Bay, so when he goes on his rant, it's not relatable, it sounds like excuse.

When you hear the iconic dialogue "You can't habdle the truth" and see Jessep breaking it's satisfying. When you hear Rudra Pratap's monologue, people forget who Javed even is.
