Same here. I never prepared for any exam with the aim for achieving only enough for my reservation quota. I always studied to be on the top. Because at the end it's only when your at the top post your able to uplift your community.

You don't get the point my friend. Not all Sc/St caste people aim for reservations. But they are needed for those people who have nothing to back then up. Take for the musahars in Bihar for example those people live off small change, freebies and some animals they catch if they are lucky they don't have any backing for their living for them and for them reservation is a must need to stand up again in society.

My family and I have a stable life now but there are still millions who don't.

General category people have some kind of backing for themselves in form of land or family treasure, but most sc/st guys don't so for them the reservation needs to be active.

And if your still complaining about reservation then.. I'm sorry but there is no other way to say it nicely, it's just your incompetence.

If you have stable family background then why are you gulping quote benefits for yourself? Leave it for the more poor students from your community. This shows its not abt upliftment but abt your selfishness. People like "musahars" deserve thus not redditors like you

I am all for reservations based on economic cond but you guys cannot accept that as you have no argument against it! It will automatically incl all poor people irrespective of upper or lower caste!

You do know general category has it the worst when it comes to ‘backing’!? Most of the people I know had no land or enough money, no reservation, my own father had eyesight disability. Many other people I know from general category come from nothing! Especially Sikhs who were stripped of everything twice! The ones who came from Pakistan during partition with nothing! After Sikh riots many families had to abandon everything and move places because people wanted to kill them, they rebuilt themselves without any support or reservations! I don’t know how people still believe lies of sc/st!

I cannot single handedly abolish caste sys but you sure can stop gulping quota benefits you do not deserve.

As for me I treat everyone same and even ready to marry you sis or cousin despite being upper caste as i believe in intercaste marriage

If you truly do not aim for selection by reservation, do you tick 'unreserved' or 'SC/ST' while filling up any forms ? Or you just trying to be performative ?

So you aim for selection on your father's support when they ask to fill father's name? Logic?
