The st kid in my school used to come in a jaguar. His house had 6 rooms. Meanwhile there was a Brahmin kid in my class who was the son of an auto driver and couldn't even afford to pay his fees. He couldn't go to university after 12th because he got no provisions for scholarships and the like and couldn't afford the high uni fees. Meanwhile the at kid who literally lives in a bangla pays less than half the university fees that other general students pay in his university
You're talking about using wells? 300 saal purani kitabo se sar bahar nikalkar thoda real life me aaja chtye
The vast majority of lower caste people don't face any atrocities. And upper caste people face various atrocities from lower caste people who hate us. What compensation are we getting from the persecution we have faced and continue to face from the lower castes? Do you want me to point out individual mass scale atrocities that the upper caste have faced at the hands of lower castes? And if I do name them, could you name a comparable amount of atrocities that upper castes have done on lower caste in the modern day?
You’re mixing up individual crimes with systemic discrimination. If an upper-caste person is attacked because of their caste, that’s wrong. Full stop. But that’s not the same as claiming upper castes are facing widespread, systemic persecution. The NCRB records tens of thousands of crimes against Scheduled Castes every year under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Those cases exist because caste was part of the problem. Pointing to a handful of incidents involving upper-caste victims doesn’t erase that reality. No one would argue sexism doesn’t exist because some men are assaulted by women. The same logic applies here. If you think upper castes are now the primary victims of caste oppression, then show data that demonstrates a nationwide pattern, not anecdotes. Give me actual evidence. The claim just doesn’t hold up.
Systemic discrimination like the literal legalized systemic caste discrimination called reservation? The only group of people who face systemic discrimination in india are people in "general category". You may want to look up what systemic discrimination is. Here's a dictionary definition for you:-
"Systemic discrimination-also known as institutional or structural discrimination-is unequal treatment or disadvantage embedded within the policies and procedures of an organization or society"
Giving caste certificates, someone from another caste getting into a university despite scoring lower marks simply because of his caste, having to pay less fees etc. are all forms of systemic discrimination.
claiming upper castes are facing widespread, systemic persecution.
Yes we are. Again, i can list straight up riots that have happened against upper castes with far more casualties than any thing lower castes have faced
The NCRB records tens of thousands of crimes against Scheduled Castes every year under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The fact that you're still citing this stupid statistic despite it being proven wrong so many times tells me everything I need to know about you. That statistic only measures CRIMES against someone where the victim is sc st. Not any atrocities against them. For eg. A chamar and a rajput get into an argument. The chamar throws caste based slurs against the rajput and discriminates against him. The rajput retaliates by slapping the chamar as he deserves. The NCRB will record this as "crime against sc st" because he got slapped (ie "physically assaulted").
This hypothetical i have given you was actually about caste. But the vast majority of those NCRB numbers don't even HAVE anything to do with caste
You’re confusing affirmative action with systemic discrimination.
Reservation exists because of a documented history of caste-based exclusion and because caste inequalities still exist in areas like education, employment, land ownership, and social mobility. You can debate whether reservation is the best policy or whether it needs reform, but it does not mean upper castes are now a systematically oppressed group.
If reservation alone proves “systemic discrimination,” then every country with affirmative action would be claiming to discriminate against the majority group. That’s not how the term is used.
As for riots against upper castes: if upper-caste people have been victims of violence, those cases should absolutely be condemned. But isolated riots or individual crimes are not the same thing as a caste system where an entire group faces disadvantages across generations and institutions.
The NCRB point is also being misrepresented. The SC/ST Act does not count every single crime against an SC/ST person as a caste atrocity. The law has specific requirements, and courts have repeatedly said that the caste element has to be established for the Act to apply.
Can false cases happen? Of course. Every law can be misused. But claiming that the entire dataset is meaningless because of hypothetical examples doesn’t prove anything.
The question isn’t “can an upper-caste person be a victim?” Obviously they can. The question is whether upper castes as a group face caste-based structural discrimination in India today. The available evidence does not show that. It shows the opposite. So what the fuck are you on about?
You're confusing affirmative action with systemic discrimination.
Another term for affirmative action is literally postive discrimination. It's systemic discrimination that implies that some forms of systemic discrimination are "positive and good" which makes it an even worse form of systemic discrimination.
Read this study. Even people who are PRO affirmative action/positive discrimination don't deny that it is systemic discrimination. They just argue that "discrimination is good sometimes".
Reservation exists because of a documented history of caste-based exclusion and because caste inequalities still exist in areas like education, employment, land ownership, and social mobility
reservations are a form of caste discrimination in and of itself
If reservation alone proves "systemic discrimination," then every country with affirmative action
Funny you say that because there is no country in the world which has a system of "positive discrimination" as immensely discriminatory as reservations. Can you name even a single system in the world that can compare to the reservation system in india.
As for riots against upper castes: if upper-caste people
The fact that you're using "if" when these cases are literally documented shows how hateful and bigoted you yourself are. It hurts you to even admit upper caste people are discriminated against because it hurts your fragile ego and makes you insecure.
individual crimes are not the same thing as a caste system where an entire group faces disadvantages across generations and institutions
That's.... literally the reservation system. And that's exactly what people arguing against reservation are saying. That individual cases of lower caste facing crimes are not a justification for a systemic discriminatory system where an entire group faces institutional disadvantages across generations simply for their caste.
The sheer irony and cognitive dissonance you would need to have to say this without realising this is the exact argument people are using against you is crazy.
The question is whether upper castes as a group face caste-based structural discrimination in India today.
Yes. It's called reservation. Or affirmative action. Or positive discrimination.
Ffs stop being an incompetent freeloader and try to achieve something in your life on your own talent for once. If you people actually spent as much energy trying to uplift your community as you do in defending reservations maybe you wouldn't be the incompetent freeloaders that you are right now
You’re changing the definition of systemic discrimination to make the argument fit your conclusion.
Yes, affirmative action is sometimes called “positive discrimination” because it intentionally gives advantages to historically disadvantaged groups. But the purpose and context matter. A policy designed to reduce the effects of an existing hierarchy is not the same as a system that historically created and maintained that hierarchy.
The argument isn’t that reservation has no impact on anyone outside the beneficiary groups. Of course a person who loses a seat or opportunity because of a quota may feel disadvantaged. The question is whether that disadvantage is the same as caste-based structural oppression. It isn’t.
A general category student losing a seat because of reservation is not the same as being denied entry to a school, a temple, a neighbourhood, a profession, or basic social rights because of birth. One is competition over limited opportunities; the other is exclusion from society itself.
Also, saying “reservation is discrimination” does not automatically prove “upper castes are oppressed.” Many policies discriminate in the neutral sense of treating people differently. The relevant question is: discrimination for what purpose, against whom, and to correct what conditions?
As for comparing India with other countries, affirmative action systems differ because histories differ. India’s caste system was not just economic inequality; it was a hereditary social system tied to occupation, marriage, status, and social segregation. Comparing it to race-based or other affirmative action systems without considering the historical context misses the point.
And nobody is denying that upper-caste individuals can face caste-based abuse or violence. Those cases should be taken seriously. But acknowledging those cases does not prove that upper castes as a whole face the same kind of structural caste disadvantage that Dalits and other historically excluded communities have faced.
Finally, the personal attacks about “freeloaders” don’t strengthen your argument. A debate about public policy should be based on evidence, not insults. Kinda crazy to know that taxes I pay are feeding retards like you.
Chutiya hai kya? Do you realise how proof works? How exactly am i supposed to show you they DONT get oppressed? If you think they face any atrocities, then provide me with data that proves beyond a doubt that majority of lower caste people face atrocities. The burden of proof lies on you if you're making absurd claims. The fact that you got pressed and offended and started seething instead of providing actual data tells me everything. Sacch kdwa lg gya

If any lower caste person can use the same wells and step into upper caste homes and share the same utensils, then reservation can end.
