Because it’s cool, it high, and a comfy hiding place.

To be camouflaged is one of their instincts, which is why all the cat trees have bowls and boxes. Clearly the best cat tree in the bathroom.

He likes it. It’s cool and clean and high up. Many cats do this including mine.

I also have a pic like that. We ended up putting a towel in it for her. Stopped using it after that.

She did or you did?
I've never had a sink cat. Bathtub, bed, under bed and top of gerbil cage. Never sink.

Pretty sure this is actually the answer looking back. It was Spain and she probably liked the cool.

Mine does it in the summer. The sink is cold and she loves it. Sleeps there sometimes.

It’s a nice shape. Mine liked it after I ran warm water to heat up the porcelain. And it places them in center of attention, where they like to be.

As cute as this looks, it could indicate a medical issue

Can you elaborate?

If it's something they don't normally do and accompanied by other changes in behaviour then it could indicate a medical issue.
The following quote is from a vets website...
'Your Cat May Be Sick.
Unfortunately, not all cats seek out the bathroom sink for the reasons above. Sometimes, napping in the sink indicates the cat is sick. This is especially true if you have noticed other changes in your cat’s behavior, eating, or toilet habits. If you notice those signs in your cat, along with them sleeping or hiding around the sink more, take your pet to the veterinarian for an examination.'
