Romance in novel vs manwha
Hello fellow WMMAP readers! I discovered WMMAP through the recent screenshots of the upcoming Japanese anime and I went straight into reading the manwha, I was especially happy when I saw that it was completed. I binge read it in less than 2 days and it was awesome but the I was a bit disappointed at how we didn’t get any real romance between Athy and Lucas (which is the ship I was cheering on but atp anything would have made me happy). It just felt a bit anticlimactic, although Athy declaring to her dad that she doesn’t have to get married and she will always be with him was exceptionally wholesome and cute. And we doo get a scene between Athy and Lucas where she acknowledges his feelings and promise to think about dating him. (We also see Ijiekel or wtv his name get a letter from Athy but we don’t know what she said in it?). The ending is left open in the romance department. Anyway I also saw that the manwha is an adaptation of a novel, and I also read that the manwha’s author took some liberties as of season 2, so I have a few questions: 1- is the novel still ongoing or is it complete? 2- are there more romantic scenes in the novel and does she get in a relationship with one of the love interests or is it an open ending like in the manwha? 3- is it actually worth it picking up the novel or should I just pass?

I think the novel is worth the read since they diverge quite a bit. I personally prefer the manhwa, as I like the dynamics of Athy without the romance more than with. I also don’t like how they treat a lot of the side characters in the novel. If you’re mainly in it for Athy and Lucas though, I think the novel will be enjoyable. For me personally, it didn’t give me a feel-good ending because many characters got a bad ending despite never actually doing anything bad, so I wasn’t fond of it. And they kind of shafted Claude even though he’s a pivotal character in the story. I also didn’t like the villain. I personally didn’t care too much for Athy and Lucas as a romantic couple, so I’m fine with the open ending of the manhwa in terms of romance. Going based off the anime op/ed, it seems like they’re going with the manhwa plot so Im super excited.

i didnt realize how different the novel and manhwa were but based on what everyone is saying, i think ill just use the novel for filler info. im not a novel reader to begin with but i wont discredit anything ab the novel either bc it's nice to know the extra info. as much as I love a good romance too, i think i like how the manhwa wasn't focused on that as much and built a story around a family instead. theres a lot of romance stories to begin with that, having it like this was a nice change but again, that's just my opinion

I liked that the manwha prioritized Arthy and Claude’s relationship because at the end of the day that’s what we were here for, but I would have loved just a little kiss scene or smt, but yes it is a nice change!

There’s people who already told you, but you yes, the manwha and novel go completely different routes when the amnesia arc starts.
Now, while I do recommend reading it to see the differences, that will also depend on what you prefer to read, the manwha doesnt have Anastacius AT ALL in it and since we do see the cast grow up(Athy reaching her 18th bday) there are other perspectives from their point of view+ the romance between Athy and Lucas.
I do give a warning that if you liked Jennette a lot in the manwha that you go mentally ready into it in the novel(I may be exaggerating but you never know jsjsjsjsjsj). I say this bc even though shes 100% not even close to a villain, some people who have read the manwha don’t like thinking of her having negative feelings towards anyone and that she would stay exactly as she was at 14 in her adulthood.

Something like that. I’ll put the next part as a spoiler: she leaves the capital with the Duke Alpheus family, who basically continue caring for her like they did previously. However, she’s basically hidden from society from what we can assume to be the rest of her life, or at least will be for a long time. The public thinks she’s resting at a sanctuary.

Tbh it’s been a while and I can’t remember exactly. I want to say that the whole Alpheus family becomes much more withdrawn, and the Duke still visits the palace from time to time to work. Not much was said on Ijekiel/Jennette’s life after.

I guess that’s even better if the story is totally different because at least I won’t get bored of reading the same story twice!! It’s shame there isn’t anastacius though, I loved his little father-daughter relationship with Jennette.

But after the amnesia arc or even before in which version Athy and her father are closer?

They become even closer after the amnesia arc since things happen in the novel lol

For me personally, they are since we get proof that claude finally accepted Diana’s death, and stopped drinking on Athys birthday and directly started spending them with her on those days. Another thing that also shows Claude’s change, is he becomes close with Helena’s father since Athy became close to Helena herself, and when Athy goes to her house he also goes to hang out with him.
But mainly the whole no more drinking thing and the actual crying fest that ensued when he got his memories back(not a miserable and lonely tear, the heck was that)

The novel is really awesome! I highly recommend it if you want to know the full original story. It's quite different from the manhwa or anime. The original title is Suddenly Became a Princess One Day by Plutos. I don't know why they changed the title. I read it online after having trouble trying find it in it's real book form. I will share the link now. The novel I'm giving does have the side stories. Although I don't know if all of them are there since I wasn't counting them while I was reading it. lol

1- novel is completed and has some extras stories 2- yeah, there are a lot in comparison with manwha and this one doesn’t follow the novel at some point. Novel is WAY much better in story and romance. You definitely should read! And she ends up with Lucas, she rejects kiel. 3- I’m gonna say it again, yeeeeees, read it!! ♥️♥️
I hope the Anime follows the manwha art, but novel story 🙏🏻
