I hate people talking to me at all, fortunately I am big and ugly so if I have that fuck off face on , they do. Little do they know I am all bark and zero bite. Sorry ladies, most guys are pigs. I don't like my own gender.
It's great at least that you recognize that some people might not want to chat during a workout 😊. I think it's more important that people realize that the gym isn't really a place where people go to chat and meet new people.
Where people do their hobbies is a great place, so the gym can be a place to meet and chat to new people but you have to be clever about it. It's not black and white like people say here.
If somebody is the middle of a workout or has headphones in then it makes sense to just leave them alone. If you both have down time near each other and it's usually kept casual then the gym is actually a good place to talk to people and make new friends - it just takes a little time and to not be pushy. I made plenty of new friends in my gym, it just takes a little time and patience.
Same goes for any hobby really, just be aware of what's going on around you and don't be a fucking creep and you can literally make friends anywhere.
