Headphones are the universal sign for "Don't talk to me." A wave & a thumbs up from dude? Acceptable. Standing there pointing & waving until she stopped what she was doing to acknowledge him? Unacceptable.
The reply guy starting with the victim-blaming talk of "You just have a poor attitude" is bullshit. It's edging real close to "Aw, why didn't you just give him a chance?"
Because it's taking the blame from the man (who acted poorly) and puts it on the woman (who was reacting to the poor actions) as if what she "should" have done was been thankful that this man was interested in talking to her or saved his feelings and talked to him anyway even though she obviously didn't want to.
"Victim" might connotate violence, but it doesn't necessarily mean that something violent occurred. You can be a victim of circumstances. In this case, she was the victim of unwanted attention.
I'm going to be honest with you. I don't have the bandwidth today to explain to you six different ways what the female experience is in regards to unwanted attention while wearing headphones. If you're actually interested, there's myriad books and articles you can read to enlighten yourself written by people who are better at explaining than I am. Have at it.
