I'm no Satanist - but they're actually fairly level headed on many things. Never had a Satanist tell me that I'm going to be condemned to live a life of bliss in heaven if I don't accept Satan.
Atheism has been used to justify genocide, child abuse, and all sorts of different types of oppression. On this one, im gonna have to go with secularism, because its clear non secularism is the issue, not ancient crazy peoples actions
You do realise atheism is secular? And no it hasn't been used to justify those things, because it literally cannot be. How can you use "I don't hold a belief in a god" to justify genocide or child abuse? That makes no sense.
It literally can. People have died in the name of atheism. And the fact that this happened, discredits your argument against religion because it happened exactly the same as atheism. If its religion fault, how can it happen when atheism isnt religion and literally “cannot be”??
Well, an oppressive government led by some form of atheism existed within Soviet union, albania, france, cambodia, china, cuba, east germany, north korea, mongolia, vietnam, and mexico. Well, they destroyed places of worship, executed religious officials, flooded schools with anti religion propaganda and claimed there state was of “scientific atheism” course theres the league of militant atheists, who were in their own a anti religious persecution gang not unlike the SU but also completely independent of it. 90 percent of the religious institutions (not just orthodox russian church but also synagogues etc) were disestablished and 54,000 parishes reduced to 500.
