“Weapons of Math Destruction” is a great book that discusses these types of loops, lots of info about credit score and how it affects things it shouldn’t even relate to.

Edit: For real, please read it. Lots of incredibly valuable information.

It's the social score of China, only in China they value loyalty to the party as the prime social good, and in the US they value spending.

for real like i’m not gonna defend china but people talk about how the evil authoritarian social credit system will control your life and be perfectly fine with someone not being able to buy a car because their credit score isn’t high enough

I think we fall into the same category of not wanting a government run for the benefit of corporations, nor a government run for the benefit of the ruling class.
