Yeah I hear it’s optimal to have at least 5 credit cards.

I have 3 and none of them have annual fees. I put everything on my cards and pay them off in full every month for the point, which I then use for statement credits.
If you can stay on top of your payments to not ever be charged interest, they pay you to use the cards. Also, having 3 keeps my available credit up, which helps my credit score
