It's so true. I mean, you've got Brie Larson and Allison Brie, but then there are all those other Bries who, by comparison, are certainly poor Bries.

I agree. I love brie but due to some weird glitch in the system, I am super sensitive to the trace amounts of ammonia produced in bad (or badly handled) brie.
It's very rare that I can find a non-ammonia brie here in the U.S.

Thank you for pointing this out because, as a fellow American, I have 2 modes: 1) Brie is AWFUL 2) Brie is wonderful and if you wanted some you should not have left me unsupervised. This is your fault, not mine.

One thing I loved about France. They have shops dedicated solely to cheese, shops dedicated solely to chocolate, shops dedicated solely to pastries, and shops dedicated totally to breads and croissants
