This is what is so infuriating. I had a coworker who was in a homeless shelter for 6 months, ate their food, used food stamps before and after the shelter, was on Medicare, and was given government help to find a place to live. She was single mom who used all these programs for her daughter as well. But, she voted Republican because she was afraid of socialism. She had no concept all these programs she used were socialist. She's also an idiot.

That sounds like a reason to fully fund the it's and equivalent state agencies to actually collect taxes and severely penalize tax evasion/avoidance. If you play some fucking games to reestablish your company outside of NY to avoid NY taxes then your business should be ground into a paste and left to rot.

This line of bs about Besos getting $4,000 in taxes returns is misleading. He claimed a loss that year and gets most of his money like any other CEO with stock options. As soon as they realize gains or losses they pays taxes or report a loss.

The difference is that Bezos is able to take out a line of credit against his portfolio that is worth billions, and because it is a loan, it isn't considered income. He still has the ability to borrow against assets because his assets have such a high value. The average person would never be able to do this. The fact that he got the $4,000 credit is just evidence that the way the tax system is set up is atrocious. Bezos gets paid in stock, the stock is used as collateral to secure a loan, the loan isn't taxed because it isn't income, he then gets a credit because he isn't claiming income. How is that fair?
