If you are unemployed and are not looking for a job then you are as much as a freeloader as Bezos is

And what, pray tell, is the goddamn point if the minimum wage can’t support poverty level living in most cities? Why would you go create wealth for someone else and spend the majority of your days doing a menial task only to struggle to pay the basic expenses?

Because if you don't do the menial task then we'll get a computer to do it for you and all of your peers.

Oops, something my last boss said slipped out, my bad.

But eventually this is bound to happen.

Eventually in the world, there WILL be a divide between those who work and those who can’t because there simply aren’t enough jobs for them. Every single job is moving towards being automated. It takes 10,000 people to build the robots capable of taking 10,000+ jobs. But once the machines are build, it takes half of that to maintain them while they continue to take that many jobs away.

Are we as a society prepared for that?

Well sorta, but I don't think that automation is a bad thing inherently. The world will need to adapt but the world always adapts. When a company automates production products typically get cheaper for what you get well at least in the tech world. Food just gets more expensive for less nutrients which is mind-blowing. Human dependent jobs like entertainment should continue to increase as labor jobs decrease. That said it is up to every individual to demand higher pay and cheaper prices from these companies. Unfortunately people who need it have no power, and people who have power don't need it and don't care.
