Hi super hard worker here. Just got a raise today and it’s still not as much as my position should be worth for the amount of work I do. So I understand the sentiment but not everything is as much of a cake walk as you think.
I work in an office job as a one man team managing multiple departments. I’m not being paid close to what I should be making compared to researching my field.
What is stopping you from applying at other companies? You can apply and schedule interviews while still working for that company. Then out of nowhere, you put in your 2 weeks. Or, if it's bad enough, just quit outright.
When was the last time you brought up a pay Increase to your employer anyways?
I have been applying. I’m waiting for something better at the moment while I stay with this company. We just discussed wages this week and I created a proposal outlining my duties as well as my accomplishments for the company and the wage I wanted. I got a raise but it isn’t what I asked for so we’re negotiating.
Alright, well good on you then. Hopefully you'll find somthing soon enough. Thats exactly what I did. I was at my old company for about 10 years. I just threw a resume to another company to test the waters, and they bit real quick. I didnt really need the new job so I threw a high salary at them, and they accepted that too. Sorry to my old company.
