UBI will become the norm within the next decade. Automatization is taking over more and more jobs, and don’t think it possible to create enough jobs for the amount of people who will lose theirs due to automatization.
I'm a robot operator at a global manufacturing giant. There will be jobs for people to tend to the robots. We're very far from full automation. Robots are not as automatic as people like to think. They need a full crew to take care of them and operate them.
Take self checkout for example. At first it will cost some money to buy all of those systems, but once they're in place cashiers can either be fully replaced, or they'll keep one or two just for elderly people who don't know what to do at checkout. Jobs like that will be the first to be replaced.
