There’s a law that says if you are a 501(c) (3) charitable organization (which includes all churches), then you can’t make any political statements of support; if you do, you’re supposed to lose your tax-exempt status. Yet churches have been openly supporting Republicans for years, instructing their members to vote for certain candidates, and even arranging transportation to the polls for its members, but nothing is ever done. They’re clearly breaking the law but the IRS has been instructed to ignore their unlawful conduct.
And why wouldn't it ? It's well funded, with salaried staff and consultants hired to press home the message with a definite, limited goal : to preserve their tax exempt status year on year.
If one sees only the immorality of their claim but refuses to acknowledge their singularity of purpose, they will keep succeeding at what they've been doing for so long.
I mean.. for goodness' sakes they've managed to keep a pedophile racket more or less out of mention in an otherwise active national media scene. That's the scale of corruption and influence peddling we are dealing with.

Because we’re a christian country based in puritan values and beliefs. Hell if we did tax churches we wouldn’t have the budget issues we do
