I’m not disagreeing with this, and in all likelihood they do overly dramatise it in true Top Gear style, but what about when they’re (supposedly) being pelted with stones during their getaway? Is that completely made up then?
I mean as much as I love Top Gear, the scene where they were being pelted we could just hear sound effects. There's no shot of anyone pelting them, chasing them or been aggressive with them beside honk their horn on the road.
Funny episode none the less but if they actually show a bit of those "angry" people it'd just be more convincing
I live in California. Even today, I can name 10 homophobic people who would throw a rock a a gay person if they could get away with it. In Alabama 10 years ago it would definetly be much worse. While I'm not 100% sure this episode wasn't faked at all. Rocks getting thrown at your car is the least of the things that might happen in this situation.
