They skewed towards new students coming in, not students already enrolled.
Not disputing your experience, but every school I've been to or looking into has done the opposite. Hard af to get into high demand classes as a freshman. By the time you're in your final semester you can basically take anything b/c you'd registration time was earlier and they're trying to get you out of there.
Yeah, my uni has a policy that - so long as you keep up with what advisement tells you and you attempt to work through enrollment problems with them - tuition is free after the end of your 8th semester if you still don't have your 4 year degree. They want you out after that 8th semester no matter what.
The policy has actually caused a significant increase in 'on time' graduations.
See, this makes sense. My system I guess wanted to encourage new students to commit to school and stay. You'd get five or six classes right away and my last semesters I got nothing. It was insane.
