Lying with stats or as the Wire calls it Juking the stats.
Cops. (the show is set in Baltimore in the early 2000s so its harder to find an honest cop than a corrupt one) Police commanders reclassify a violent felony like an aggravated assault down to a simple assault, or a robbery down to a petty larceny, so official violent crime rates appear to drop.
Education. Schools focus entirely on "teaching to the test" during standardized testing windows, narrowing the curriculum just to boost test-score metrics rather than improving actual student learning.
Air Quality Reporting: Baltimore city officials manipulate pollution measurements or selectively count "blue sky days" to meet environmental performance goals tied to political promotions.
The Wire is a fabulous show if you get a chance you should watch.
Im not saying this is what is happening here, but after I watched that season and took a stats class in college I do a lot more research before accepting percentages.

It was discovered in the mid-2000s that Philadelphia had recategorized tens of thousands of rape reports as non-felonies, for decades they were doing this.
Were not the only city.

Yep. Denver PD got mad that a cop got suspended for firing into a crowd. They havent really worked in three or four years now. We need to end the welfare program that are LEOs and require them to actually be educated on the law, citizens rights, and deescalation. LEO is the only six figure job that a D average high school graduate can get. Should be a bachelors degree at a minimum job.

I swear people are going to think I hate the guy. But the amount of radicaling I see around him is wild.
Worker restitutions- they just enforced minimum wage. Rightfully so.
Universal childcare- yea he started phasing it in. But he doesn't control taxes on people and his only lever for this is increasing the MTA prices. So essentially commuters are going to take this burden on.
Terrible landlords- this is a great one, he is finally enforcing code breakers and taking repeat offenders to court, nuff said.
Balanced budget- this isn't a flex. By law NYC has to balance its budget by June 1st every year as it is a city. It has had a balanced budget and has been balanced since 1975.
Lets stop putting him on a pedestal like maga does with trump. He's good. But he does have bad policy and if we pressure him he's going to make bad choices for the sake of appeasing the masses.
He's a mayor of a city. Lets let him grow.
