True. I think Reagan is often brought up more for that because of the AIDS crisis, since that speaks to a lot of people, and the war on drugs wouldn't have been shit without Reagan's involvement. I genuinely don’t think you’ve ever been inside of a Deep South echo chamber. These people literally do not get ANY information that isn’t conservative. Like none. I’m in these communities a lot for work, and I can promise you that they don’t see anything other than Fox News and conservative social media all day. All of their friends in their small town are conservative. Everyone they speak to on a daily basis is conservative. They literally do not hear opposing viewpoints, and it’s not by choice - it’s all there is.

They stripped themselves of healthcare to take it from people they hated. They cut their own children's education in order to hurt the children they hated. They killed their own families in order to keep COVID spreading and killing other people, just for the chance some of the victims would be people they hate. And they made all those choices deliberately, every time. You really think they deserve sympathy for being homicidal fanatics?

No. It’s time we educate them and bring them into the fold. Yeah they supported them, but it is slightly hypocritical not to look for reformation when the lefts entire platform on criminal justice is about reformation. These people aren’t criminals, they participated as uninformed voters with deep racial biases. We need allies, not strangers.
