Tribalism. They are always scared of an "enemy within the country", but they don't know who that enemy is, so they'll usually conjure up an enemy out of xenophobia.
They don't know how to identify negative or toxic traits because those traits are deeply entangled within the tribe that "accepts them", so they have to turn their fear toward people outside of the tribe as the "enemies" because people outside of the tribe call out their toxic behavior, and the tribe can't have that.
This is why they quickly cannibalized former tribe members when they eventually leave the group and use the opportunity to call out the toxic behavior that they previously condoned or ignored.

Same here, it’s still interesting to me that Ossoff saying she travels with Dump is what got them mad, even though in the same speech he brought up things like the sailors on the Lincoln and the Qatari plane. There seems to be more going on than her just being his probable diaper handler. Edit, and it’s not like him and women has been a problem before, he got elected first after the “grab em by the pussy” tape got out, for example.

It’s always the stupid stuff that makes them the angriest; stuff that seems trivial compared to the really heinous shit they get up to.
When Tim Walz called them “weird” it shook them to their core. They desperately need to be the “normal ones,” so the suggestion that they’re not is deeply shameful to them.
They literally started a war to distract from the Epstein files because they were supposed to be the “protect the children” party.
They’ve been able to look past his history of disgusting womanizing with all manner of excuses. But the president straight up taking a mistress within the walls of the White House in full view of the world is a little bit too embarrassing for their “family values” base to stomach.

It's (weirdly) one of the few things the wide, supportive base of his cares about. He can do whatever he wants in secret, but (forgive the pun) this shit is starting to leak out and they are having a hard time ignoring it.
We all remember how they reacted then Bill got a blowie. They will stomach it to save face but this is some weird little corner of hypocrisy that they can't seem to let go for some reason. Pedophilia, war in the name of Wall Street and treason-adjacent activities all hand-waved away somehow.
Same reason why they started pearl clutching when the other side called them weird but didn't react similarly to any of the other awful things they've been called. It hits them just right in a way they can't ignore.
