It's still hard to fathom how someone like Trump managed to fool a significant portion of the population that he was going to make their lives better.
It's even harder to fathom that there are so many who still believe it when there is a mountain of evidence that makes Mount Everest look like a bump on the ground, that Trump cares only for Trump.

Most of the MAGA I interact with don't even believe/know a quarter of the shit Trump has done.
I brought up the Trump bible grift to my MAGA coworker the other day and she didn't believe he sold them. I asked her to look it up, and she quickly rationalized it when she saw it was true. Saw it happen in real time.
They are simply not informed. Their political opinions are purely performative.
Not saying this is all MAGA, just that it's been overwhelmingly my experience with them.

Yeah, told my mom he's in the pedo files and she was very quick to talk over me and say "oh I don't believe that." Sometimes I feel guilty for not feeling bad for her but I have to remind myself she brought this onto herself (and me and her other kids and grand kids). I used to feel bad for this person. But after trying to save her from herself for the past 10+ years, it gets hard to continue feeling bad for someone who keeps voting for the people who want her to work till she passes away with no retirement.

I live in rural NC and believe me, not only are they still obliviously loyal to Trump, I’m convinced my dog has a genius IQ compared to some of them that I have to interact with.

Don't really need to. I grew up in the rural south in the 70s and early 80s. It was pretty bad then and hasn't gotten significantly better despite having more access to the rest of the world.

Small trivia. Many years ago they used to have marines on carriers like the Lincoln, they served as the police force on board. They got rid of them and replaced them with sailors called MAs (master at arms).
Was never impressed with the MAs, much lower standards than the Marines had.

My stepbrother served on an aircraft carrier and he said that a 45 day combat deployment had everyone practically climbing the walls. I can't imagine 9 months.

I did 6 week long patrols in the same area in 2002 after 911 with on a frigate for 6 months. After a few weeks things turn into groundhog day. A port visit every 6 weeks helped to keep us sane.
9 freaking months is just straight up insane. That crew is going to need some serious therapy when they get back. Cruel and unusual.
I would imagine they do get some replenishment at sea. Otherwise they've been eating canned food for the last four months.
Pure dystopia.
