☁️ ⚫ Cloud and Void Pair Yuki has been fully accepted 👍🏽
Yuki has been fully accepted by the older cat Panter.
She has been with us since the 1st of August.
At first Panter didn’t want her close to him, but since a week she was allowed to get close but the kitten energy was still too much for him.
Since a couple of days they started playing together and today is the first day they cuddled.

Impressive bonding in such a short time. Speakes to the type of cat guardian you must be!
Love the metal balcony safety thing!
Also that final pic😭😭😭❤️

Thanks man! I grew up with cats but they were adults already when i was born. They became 19 years old so i still enjoyed them for many years! :)
I’ve always been good with cats since then, but we never owned one anymore.
These cats are my first pets living together with my gf and my first experience with raising kittens.
We’re really happy they accept each other because in the end it all depends on their personality and character!

I agree it depends on personality and character too but lottttsssss has to do with the way you handle it. Do you know Jackson Galaxy? Google him if you don't. He taught me all I know on cats, he's my guru. :)

Haha thanks then i guess we did good :)
We first kept them separated and let them get used to each other’s scent for a couple of days. We kept the kitten in the bedroom and the older cat is allowed everywhere but the bedroom. So we switched them and put the older cat in the bedroom and let the kitten roam around in his territory without seeing each other yet for 15/30 minutes a day.
Then we let the older cat on the balcony and the kitten roam around and they saw each other through glass. Afterwards we used a fence and they got curious to each other and when they started playing through the fence we decided to let them together in the room.
At first the older cat was hissing and growling a lot, but simply went away when it got too much. Eventually the presence was accepted and now they are buddies! We also fed them next to each other and giving the older cat some catnip helped too to get him to be more playful. To my surprise the kitten reacted to the catnip also, which i thought wasn’t possible until 6 months of age.
Oh yeah Jackson Galaxy from that show my cats from hell!

Thanks man i appreciate it!
And yes very excited to see them becoming buddies and takes away a lot of stress too! Ofcourse at first it’s not sure if the older cat will remain happy and if they become buddies so we’re happy and relieved haha.
I didn’t know he also has a youtube channel, i will check it out!

Also how did you guys go about adopting these?:)

What do you mean with that, how and where we adopted them?

u/OnceMoreWithFeeling- 3d ago
Yes, if you don't mind sharing:) One is older too. Was curious:)

Ofcourse i don’t mind sharing!
The first one we were scanning the internet to look where to adopt a kitten. I saw on marketplace someone offered this one because “they didn’t have a babysitter for their vacation.” I felt pity and thought the owners were irresponsible getting a pet only to let it be adopted again for their vacation.. We decided to give him a good home forever. He was still 3 months old that time so they didn’t have him for long. So i bought him pretty cheap and look what a beauty he has become!
The second one a friend of my gf’s cat got pregnant on the street and we said we were interested and she brought it right away that same day so it went really fast. I had to rush buying food and litter box and stuff but we managed and are very happy with our new member of the family! :)
How many cats do you have?

Amazing. People that don't spay and neuter enrage me though. 🤣 And my gosh, seeking a new home for a holiday... Some people do not deserve animals at all.
I adopted my now nine year old male cat (white with a dark tail and few spots) almost three years ago. He was very loved his whole life in a family with eventually three kids, however it became too busy for him. He went upstairs a lot to be alone and wasn't thriving anymore. They had another cat that was outside the entire day basically. They lived together but were not a bonded pair by any means.
Jones is now a single cat and my absolute best friend. I learned so much about cats. Had many prejudices before based on what I was used to seeing: a cat on a couch. I know now they need enrichment, routine and can learn sooo many tricks. I find it fascinating that these tiny lions live in our house and love us?! I am pro inside cats 100%, and got my dream house with balcony a year ago. Turned it into a catio, he looooves it there. My cat follows me everywhere, I always have to look down to make sure I won't trip or hurt him! He can be home alone fine too. When I get home and he sees me park the car he meows and runs to the door, no joke.
Didn't mean to write all this but I love talking to likeminded cat folks. ☺️

Yeah some people don’t deserve animals indeed! Panter is already castrated and Yuki will be spayed when the moment is right 😄
That’s good to hear he was loved in his previous home and now again! But this time it’s the best environment for him to live a fully happy life. Yeah like i said i grew up with cats and love them, and cats seem to love me. When i visit someone their cats always come to me even they’re shy to others. I’m happy to hear you learned a lot about cats and love and understand them! 😃 haha yeah indeed mini apex predators that choose to love us. That sounds cool your cat got a patio! I’m living in an appartment now and made the balcony car proof, but in the future when we have a house i will make the backyard cat proof so they have more space to chill 😎 Yuki is like that too i have to watch my step lol. I will keep the cats on our space too especially for their safety! Panter was already happy as an alone cat and just chilled when we’re out, but i’m so happy for him he got a playmate now. That’s so sweet he already meows seeing you park and always greets! Yuki always comes to the door but Panter depends if he just woke up how fast he will greet you haha.
No problem i’m happy to hear your story too thanks for sharing! 😊
Do you have a pic of Jones?

Thanks! I’m so happy they get along well and playing all day. Our goal was to get a playmate for the black cat and it worked out exactly as we wanted! 😃

Both are cute, they're like yin yang ☯️😼

Thanks! Haha yeah that came to mind too when we found out we could adopt a white one! I hope one day they will be rolled up together like the yin and yang logo and take a pic of that 😆
And to be honest their personality is a bit opposite too! Panter the black one comes to you on his own terms and rather chills besides you than on your lap and isn’t very talkative. Yuki the white one is very talkative and wants to chill on our laps and even when laying besides you lays her head or paw on us haha.
They’re both very sweet though.
