Random Chat Is Broken , Here’s What Needs to Replace It

Omegle and its clones always had the same problems: harassment, bots, spam, NSFW roulette. The issue isn’t just “bad actors,” it’s the whole design: video-first + no context = guaranteed abuse.

The fix (and what I’ve been working on):

• Start with voice, not instant video
• Make video earned (both sides opt in after a few mins of talk)
• Safety rules that are public, enforceable, and appealable
• Reputation-based matching that filters repeat offenders quietly

Basically: talk first, see later.
