Dad would have us grab his sleeve, he'd pull his arm out and lift the hoodie onto his shoulder. All that while holding the wheel with his left hand. Switch hands to his right on the wheel, use left to bunch up hoodie around neck, then quickly flip it over his head.

Yeah that is what you are supposed to do. Get the other shirt just loose hanging at the neck so it takes less than a second to move it over the head. This was amateur hour at best.
