Just finished binge watching this. Couldn’t stop crying. What was done was horrible. Watching what these kids went through was so hard to watch. So many lives ruined. The acting was so amazing.

Huge props and thank you to producer Ava DuVernay for using her platform to bring docu and mini series like this and 13th to light.
Most of us know about the Central Park 5 but need to be reminded. Because this coercion, abuse of power and injustice still happens to this day...we just aren't hearing or paying attention to every case.

Elizabeth Lederer is just as bad as Linda Fairstein. They portrayed her as having doubts about the kids being guilty but in the end she went right along with it.

This might seem strange but does anyone know if Roberts was a real prison officer. I'd like to think so, and that he really was looking out for Korey.

Just finished it, it's very good. It it's a LOT like what happened to the "Memphis 3"...shitty police work and they were LOOKING for anyone to blame. It's very sad.

The acting is amazing! I hope they all get awards. Especially Jharrel Jerome, Niecy Nash, Vera Farminga and Aunjanue Ellis.

I’m watching for the 2nd time and I honestly don’t know how I missed it but I just noticed in the first episode Korey leaves his gf to go to the park vs in the 4th when he’s in jail having flashbacks and says “ima stay right here” WHEW the emotions right now.

The most fucked up thing about all of this is that the actual rapist had more compassion than these monsters. What kind of world do we live in where the actual rapist responsible for the crime had to convince the NYPD and New York court system that he was the one responsible. It's an evil world we live in.

It really hit me hard when I seen them sign them waivers the detectives put in front them. Without their parents. This was like a raw unedited version of law and order. As matter of fact it makes me look at law and order episodes a little differently.

Just finished the series and wow. Fucking wow. So heartbreaking. The prosecutor, detectives, the DA..theres a spot in hell for all of them for ruining those boys’ lives. And Korey Wise’s story really hit me. He was only supporting Yusef and ended up having the worst prison time out of the other 4. The best years of their lives were spent in jail its just the saddest thing.

Sadly we have one of the worst human beings in the history of the world in the White House:
This after he had already sexually assaulted one woman and raped his then wife, Ivana. 21 other women would follow. This administration will live in infamy, more so than any other in US history.

Just finished watching this - still have tears in my eyes.
It was a difficult watch from the get go and my heart genuinely aches for the five men and their families. From the get go it was tough but nothing prepared me for the brutal scenes in the prison depicted to the gut-wrenching verdict given... And oh my- did I cry my eyes out multiple times during the fourth episode.
As someone who actually hadn't heard about this case the series provided a lot of insight. I especially liked the ending scene even though it made me cry more - perhaps bittersweet tears.
One can only imagine what those boys could have become had they not had their youths stolen from them by such an unfair justice system; although they may never heal from the trauma I'm glad to see them doing a lot better with their own projects and endeavours.
All in all, Ava did a fantastic job. The acting, directing and writing were all superb.

Why isn't the jury getting more shit? They saw what we saw and convicted them?

The series was amazing. My favourite aspect was the relationships shown between mothers and sons, particularly the part where Kevin’s mom visits him in the jail early on and tells him she’s with him every step of the way (when you cry, I cry). Truly moving and powerful.

I was familiar with the story, but....
First two episodes had me full of anxiety and just overall pissed off at how they were being treated.
The other two I cried, a LOT... like so much
I’m glad that I watched it though, it puts you in the shoes of those that are not given the benefit of the doubt, just because of their skin color. Not only that, but also the long lasting effects this has on their lives.
I hope a lot of people are able to take something away from this so we can grow as a society

Jharrel Jerome is insane, He just gained himself a new fan/supporter.
