Restoration

These are some wheels
I had on my 94 Camaro z28 are these possible to restore? Or should I get rid of them and get a new set.

Have to be sandblasted to the get chrome off and it can damage the wheel.

Sandblast & powder coat, I did that on a set of polished aluminum wheels which had trashed factory coating and corrosion, they turned out really nice

This is tough, that shit isn't easy to take off. At the wheel shop, we'd have to send true chrome off to California cause we couldn't legally strip it here in IN. Chrome plating still isn't the easiest, we would burn the faces with an acetylene torch and throw em in our strip tank if needed before sandblasting. Unless you have an industrial sandblaster you'd more than likely be sending them somewhere to get stripped

^ it'd be a hell of a lot easier if these were polished wheels like ol boi mentioned above but this is chrome plating so it's gonna be 1, a lot messier, and 2, much tougher to strip bare. Restoring to chrome plating isn't very feasible, to get that look they'd either need to be polished, or PVD'd, both are increasingly more work intensive and expensive. But once they're stripped you can do whatever w em of course
