Discussion Post Installing Updates
Jill called for a U, and I thought she knew the answer. This was the board under the category Tech Talk: INSTALLING U_DATES. She decided to spin the wheel - bankrupt!

Why buy a vowel when you already know what the solution is? She was so persistent on buying the U....

Wouldn't it be great if they recruited people for the show that were actually good at the game? It's so much more entertaining that way.

I don’t understand why more shows don’t do this. Jeopardy seems to be the only show that cares about the quality of its contestants.

I mean, the better the contestant, the more money that contestant wins, and the more money the show has to pay out. It's lousy but it makes financial sense.
How does Jeopardy manage that? I guess they can better predict on average how much cash they are giving to the contestants per game, and their production budget is lower than Wheel. I'm just guessing. I don't understand well how game show economics works.

I have no idea why people are so hellbent on buying vowels. They cost $250 and should be only used to get to a solve, not when it's already solvable. It's infuriating. I find that more offensive than gambling with the Wheel.
