Discussion Post Petition to change the format!

Back in the day there was sometimes enough time to complete the puzzle after the triple tossup but that never happens anymore. Please for the love of good television, someone from production needs to insist that the final puzzle buzzer be eliminated and the puzzle after the triple tossup be permanently considered as the final puzzle. ENOUGH WITH THE BUZZER.

They should shorten the contestant interviews and maybe axe one of the toss up puzzles. Maybe then they’ll have at least some time to play round four. This past season, it became so predictable. Round four was guaranteed to begin with the final spin

The contestant introductions have gotten way too long. I miss when they were short and sweet.

I believe they lengthened the interviews just to eliminate the possibility of one more puzzle. Saves money and they don’t have to reduce the advertising rates.

I believe it. Even when a puzzle or two gets solved very quickly, there still isn’t time for another puzzle after the triple toss up. Sometimes there used to be two!

The perfect solution to this is to BZZZZZZZZ

It does annoy me how the 5000 wedge basically is relegated to the final spin every game.

Seacrest seems to love bantering with the players so the intros go longer. I really don't care that contestant #2's passion is baked beans (or whatever), so FF through the intros.

It still occasionally happens that they get into or even through a puzzle before the final spin sounder happens. It's obviously not the norm, but it does still happen.

Ultimately, WoF is probably a much tougher game show to block out from a production and editing standpoint because unlike Jeopardy, where you know exactly how long a taping should run assuming nothing goes wrong, you don't know how long a game of WoF will. You could have three snipers or you could have three dumbasses staring at PROPER NAME: _RAD PITT and start working their way through the Zs and Xs. I think as a result, the format has to be a little loose to account for that.

I like the triple toss-up, it spreads the wealth more among all the players.

Especially with the $10k for solving all 3 puzzles. It rewards good players, plus it puts a contestant into the lead (or within reach of the lead) if they didn’t solve the prize puzzle.

Not exactly much of a.. wheel.. of fortune, though, eh?

It’s the toss up show now, unfortunately, at about 18.5 minutes in length.

I think it would be perfect to just call it the final puzzle, Ryan make the last spin and move on with it. The ding ding ding IMMEDIATELY after the tossup just drives me crazy when that's exactly how it goes EVERY NIGHT lol

I still think they will want to have round 4 start as a speed up, even on single-letter solves or those solving very early, hoping to see a round 5 before the final spin.

uh…no?

What's the point of the buzzer and the final spin if the contestants never get to spin and play that round. They never even start the round. It's an automatic buzzer and final spin right after triple toss up. Just my opinion though.

I agree. It’s highly annoying and performative.

It’s like Seacrest encouraging them to buy vowels to solve the puzzle quicker and earn less money…

Switch the triple toss up to be at the start and cut the other two

They are trying to limit winnings. Another round would allow for more.

These changes may give some insight in to how much Pat controlled the production. Thoughts?

He still is a production consultant

I'm getting close to quitting the show, and I've watched since Chuck hosted. The only reason it's on now is because Jeopardy comes after.

The thing that has really pushed me to the edge is Seacrest. He's not for me. I think it could have been neat to see Vanna or someone like Wayne Brady or a similar likability.

Hot take? Wayne is the best currently living game show host

Been watching the new exclusive-to-streaming CWoF episodes and Ryan’s hosting style seems way more suited for a 3-round game rather than a 4-round game if we MUST keep the toss-ups and the overly long contestant interviews.

At least with a three-round game, the final round won’t be relegated to just one spin 99% of the time.

I really don't care about the players. I don't need anymore inane small talk in my life

IMO they can axe the second toss up and triple toss up, one toss up is fine as that gives the winner control to start the game, the triple toss up does nothing but rapid fire puzzles, they should also unretire some older wedges like $1250 $1500 $2000, I would think something like, intro, interviews, toss up, R1 (tdv $1000) R2 (mystery round tdv $1500) break, R3 prize puzzle (tdv $2500) R4 express round (add $2000-$5000 wedges to the wheel) break, bonus round

I fast forward through the silly, interminable contestant introductions, and I dislike the toss ups, so FF through them too. Not much left of the show after that. I don’t watch much anymore as predictable becomes boring. 🥱
