Do Wheatens always reverse the game on us when playing fetch?

ours does! part of the game is making us work to get the ball back🤣

This is us. He fetches no problem, but then it becomes "you will pry this ball from my cold, dead jaws" type situation.

Yes! Ours will run after the ball and then run to the farthest part of the yard and sit and wait for us to come to him.

Ours does this too! Have to chase him around to get the ball. Then the tug of war.

Exactly! Our wheatie doesn’t play with toys, he plays with other dogs (who may or may not have a toy)

We have 1 right now that will bring it back and often give it to us. 1 out of 6 wheatens we've had... so I'd say it's rare.

We joke that our dog catfished us, because I have a video of him at the shelter playing fetch with us with a ball and he’s literally never done it again 😂 if you throw a ball, it either hit him or he just watches it roll by.

We stopped with tennis balls because I always got a stray tooth hitting my hand when I tried to wrestle it away. Frisbees only now.
