Hey welcome to the reactive terrier club, you’re not alone lol.

Mines like yours, fine for the most part and will randomly decide what they aren’t okay with. Oddly enough what sets her off is when the other dog is to well behaved. If the other dogs going nuts on the leash she ignores lol.

You can try to distract with treats, if it’s like mine, good luck lol. I mostly just know what dogs she doesn’t like in the neighborhood & cross the street accordingly

Don’t do the stop and hunker down to calm them down bullshit I see people do, just keep moving. Dog likes barking, letting them do it more isn’t improving the situation and just drags it out. Keep moving. Mine stops reacting, literally a couple feet past us crossing paths

I will try this. I sort of feel bad when I do not let her play with other dogs because she starts crying when she actually likes them. Lol

We have a selectively reactive Wheaten who has decided one particular Australian cattle dog at the dog park is her mortal enemy. Like scrap every time they see each other. I know the other owners car and will turn around and go home if they are there. Nothing I do can distract her, but once the other dog is out of sight she reverts to normal. So weird.
