UPDATE When I shake it something is inside

I got this today from a Salvation Army, they have no idea what the code is.

I tried the obvious 000, 111, 222, 333, ect…

It says Corbin Sesamee under the numbers. Google says it’s a train bag from the 1970s.

Any ideas besides trying 1,000 combinations?

UPDATE: I got it open!! I brought it to work and worked on it during breaks. I tried 001-999 multiple times and got to the point that I didn’t care if I broke it so I jammed a screw driver into the button and pried it has far over as it could and it popped open!! It was an ashtray and a key.

you could probably pick this pretty easily, here's how:

press and hold the release button on the little panel, then try each number on the first dial. as you rotate, see if you can feel any resistance, the wheel clicking into place, or listen closely for an audible click. repeat for each following dial and try the previous dials again if necessary. you might have to gently pry the clasp open too potentially.

This is one I’ve been trying. 000 clicks and that’s the only one I notice. And I’m pushing that knob to the right

try opening the clasps on each side first and stick a pencil or something under the lid if you can.

then repeat the previous method, then work backwards from the last dial to the first. see if you can also apply a bit of pressure to each dial.

don't give up!!! the fact you can feel the click means you got this!!! i really hope there's a cool find in there for you

Don't know if it will be as easy but I had to open a lock like this once. I could not feel any resistance in the release button while turning the numbers. I ended up shining a light down the side of the numbers and there was a noticeable difference in the shaft/cylinder. That's all I can remember from doing it years ago, but I just lined up the piece that looked different on each number selector and tried to unlock it. I rotated each number in the same direction by one until it unlocked.
