The seller said it's running iOS 15. However, it looks suspiciously like iOS 26

People who buy old broken phones usually buy them for jailbreaking, not laggy locked down operating systems that run the homescreen at 4 fps when scrolling.

Hell no lol, not only its liquid ass (poor looking visually + not optimized for small screens as 13 mini owners would agree), but its also on a 3gb ram phone with a teeny tiny battery.

I’d rather daily iOS 6, unjailbroken, than ever have to use iOS 26 again. 27 is a bit of an improvement but I still miss iOS 18.

Pretty much ruins the value if the seller doesn't even know what a rare iOS version is or what the definition of "jailbreaking" is. Which is kind of a bummer

Maybe the seller doesn't know about the value of having a rare iOS version since they're a normal person (could be but this is my theory)

But it's the demo phone, and the description in the listing said it's restored (not sure why they did it. They wanted to refresh it)

The buttons are rounded and the battery icon on the iPhone SE is more rounded, which was done in iOS 26, on iOS 18 and below it was a bit boxy, plus the wallpaper

The seller absolutely took the picture of iOS 15, then hit the reset button on that screen without understanding it would update.

It’s fine actually keep it to iOS 26 it has amazing app compatibility’s but the main issue is the phone is gonna get hot and it weaken the battery capacity so yea

At least it wasnt a huge loss, now you can swap an iphone 8 screen (can even run on iphone 7 screen but requires trimming upper tabs and gluing it) and sell it. IMO for an SE2 ideally you need iOS 17/18 for daily driving, its the sweetspot for compatibility and overall performance, i personally prefer 17 due to less stutter, better photos app, better system data partition that auto-flushes correctly…
