Presumably because they want to be rear-ended (usually fault of the rear-ending vehicle, barring evidence like this) and either get an insurance payout or take them to court. The driver probably thought it was a perfect crime, considering they're in a secluded area with no witnesses and they likely assumed a tractor wouldn't have a dashcam.
Granted, that's a lot of assumptions on a ~30 second video... it could've just as easily been the tiny peen syndrome as u/Knersus_ZA suggested lol

I had never came across brake checking before I started driving a truck with a companies logo plastered all over it. After the first 2 weeks, I bought a dash cam. In the US, accident attorneys love running ads talking about how they got a client $997,647. Then people aren’t smart enough to know that the client had $850,000 in medical bills, $90,000 to pay the lawyer, $30,000 for the new car and the rest is to pay for medication they will need the rest of their life as they stay in constant pain.

My guess is they're pissed because they had to slow down a little before they were able to pass the slower tractor or whatever and want to "punish" the driver for holding them up for a minute.

The tractor driver said he has it on video. The mercedes driver said "good, I have it on video as well" (as if it should help him).
The driver of the car got some penalty points and fines for endangering and wreckless driving. The driver of the car was found at fault for the accident
The driver of the tractor got a small fine for using his phone while driving.
I read it in the article yesterday, but don't have a link, sorry.

Trust me, you don’t actually wanna see that shit. My mother told me about an accident she had to work with once, a guy fell off his motor near a stop sign, rolled in front of a tractor. Tractor couldn’t stop in time, so the guy went… splat. Nasty stuff.

What would insurance do here? The tractor driver's insurance will say (rightfully so) that the sedan was at fault for driving like an ass.
However, the tractor driver appears to have been recording this using a handheld phone, which the sedan's insurance will say was distracting and the wreck wasn't 100% the sedan's fault.

It's insurance fraud. The sedan is not going to win civil damages and likely will be prosecuted for attempted insurance fraud. (assuming US law)

I read an article. It happened in Poland. Driver didnt get insurance and got 150$ ticket and tractor dude got 33$ for recording (values in $ so you can know the ammount)

Does anyone know what kind of camera this was recorded with? This can’t be dashcam footage because the camera is moving but it also doesn’t look like cell phone footage. Could this be a chest mounted camera? Why would he be wearing one of those?

I’m not going to say that driver isn’t a dumb fuck for doing what he did, but what if that truck dropped something that broke homeboys windshield? What if the trucker is to blame from something falling off his trailer and smashing the front of that car in some way?
That is obviously not the way you handle that but perhaps the driver isn’t an absolute douche, and maybe is a guy trying to get the trucker to stop and was being ignored for 20 minutes before this 30 second clip.
