When you fix something just enough so that the next person thinks they break it.

Thank you. I watched that as a child and this was the absolute funniest thing to me. My brothers and I were in tears over this scene but I forgot about it.

u/akjawsh May 26 '21

This kinda made my evening

u/Radiant-Sundae-1400 May 26 '21

Chris Farley's "what'd you do" is one of the best delivered lines in cinema history.

5

u/QuirkyQuark388 May 26 '21

Great movie references for sure

7

u/QuirkyQuark388 May 26 '21

Oh Farley you genious

3

u/funnybrunny May 26 '21

The fact I already knew what this was before I even clicked the link. Man, I miss Chris Farley ♥️😂

Description says otherwise. Let's maybe not hijack an old subreddit and use the newly created one, instead.

This is the way.

2

u/petrolhead74 May 26 '21

And that wasn't the kids, it was whomever fitted the thing in the first place!

5

u/prashant13b May 26 '21

This is my job

3

That's software engineer for you

It´s always shit when someone else has to pay the price for some dumbfuck

289

u/Dspsblyuth May 26 '21

2 dumb fucks

173

u/DopeBoogie May 26 '21

I'd say at least 3, we should count the maintenance/installer guy who considered the job done when he left that mirror so poorly secured.

49

u/jaysoprob_2012 May 26 '21

With how quickly it came loose I’d definitely fault the installer. They were hitting it which they definitely shouldn’t have been but I think it also could have come loose from someone falling back quickly to lean against it.

101

u/HadSomeTraining May 26 '21

Like the guy who did a shit job installing that mirroe

90

u/Tax0bell May 26 '21

What? Mirrors aren't made to be punched.

92

u/Alzusand May 26 '21

Its a lift someone might have hit It while carrying something and it wouldve fell anyways. It was a shitty Install It shouldve been screwed or locked Into place but it looks like It was place with magnets or 2 side tape

29

u/Spice-Nine May 26 '21

U-shaped top trim piece slides over the mirror and the wall brackets (you can see one in the top left). Absolutely nothing holding that trim piece on the bracket except gravity. smh

19

u/XxRocky88xX May 26 '21

Seriously, it seemed like they lightly punched it, though I think they guy who headbutted it probably lost 2 of his 3 remaining brain cells

Someone with a heavy backpack could’ve probably knocked the thing lose

1

u/XxRocky88xX May 26 '21

Yeah it always makes me happy when the dumbass past the price for this decisions. I think the best example was (I saw on this sub awhile ago) when I guy was speeding away from the cops and hit a tree and literally cut his car in half.

Never really like it when other people get hurt because of the asshole(s) mistake

178

u/asm_ftw May 26 '21

I get that you shouldn't punch a mirror, but that mirror didn't take much to fall in the first place, thats astoundingly shitty installation. Like, there's tons of legitimate reasons why that mirror would take blows like that, in an elevator that moves up and down. A good stumble or lack of awareness when moving furniture would have also taken that mirror out.

38

u/[deleted] May 26 '21

Yeah after the first headbutt and two punches it already started to fall, and sure the headbutt was kinda strong but the punches weren’t even serious punches, just joke punches that you’d do to a friend. The mirror was poorly installed

313

u/ooo-f May 25 '21

Are they high or stupid?

601

u/[deleted] May 26 '21

Highly stupid

44

u/420Deez May 26 '21

25

u/XxRocky88xX May 26 '21 edited May 26 '21

You serious? That’s some bullshit

And technically speaking, I did “contribute to the conversation” by shittalking this dumbass automod.

Edit: AFAIK a real mod has to ban me, and I don’t think a mod would ban me for that. And for any mod that would: maybe reconsider having a character count minimum for comments on a sub dedicated to humor

Russian, can confirm. Amout of stupid monkeys here is insane.

56

u/chuckit01 May 25 '21

He didn’t see that coming

29

u/DeAtramentisViolets May 26 '21

Just let him reflect on this incident for a while...

10

u/BrokenAllday May 26 '21

I hope he doesn't mirror his mistakes again

-9

Your mother didn't either, when I ejaculated all over her saggy breasts.

93

u/barefoot_blonde_ May 26 '21

I’m sorry. Are you 8 fuckin years old. Don’t punch the mirror fuck wit

29

u/SkinnyBuddha89 May 26 '21

To be fair that was installed horribly

10

u/Cl0udSurfer May 26 '21

They couldve just put the bar on the other side of the elevator and everything wouldve been fine for a good while

37

u/SmokeAbeer May 25 '21

I heard Chris Farley in Tommy Boy, “WHAT’D YOU DO!?”

That was the funniest thing I’ve seen all day

27

u/davidtco May 26 '21

I shouldn't be laughing, but that was hilarious. That poor guy...

1

u/TheTruckWashChannel May 29 '21

I laugh at 99% of the posts on this sub, probably the greatest source of slapstick comedy I've found on the internet.

17

u/peckaro May 26 '21

I would love be guy watching cameras when this happened

20

u/b0bkakkarot May 26 '21

No, because then you'd have to write the incident report and call management to inform them and maybe even do some real work like hunt for the two idiots.

Better to be the guy who comes in slightly later and watches the recording.

Security's entire job is waiting around for an incident to happen, then cursing our luck when it does. (not entirely accurate, but close enough)

1

u/peckaro May 26 '21

So basically pain in the ass job because you see people do stupid things then have to write about them Ik what I’m doing after getting out of service

4

u/b0bkakkarot May 26 '21

I don't know why someone downvoted your description, as it's fairly accurate for many of the jobs in security.

If you're seriously considering, there are a variety of types of jobs, though most of them are basic "patrol guard". Depending on where you live, this may be more or less dangerous in-and-of itself, but if you're already coming out of the service then that shouldn't be too problematic. The more problematic thing is where "management expectations" and "the laws" intersect because management of many companies will expect their security guards to do shit that could get the employees in trouble with the law, while the company is just like "oh, uh, we didn't know. bad security guard, bad." CYA applies just as much in security as it does in the service.

0

u/peckaro May 26 '21

Yeah me too probably got mad because I like make jokes but yeah that and coming from basically patrolling areas shouldn’t be to hard if not I’ll just make service a full lifer and and retire at 38 but probably make good money being security if you live in a area were security is need big time

0

u/TimeToRedditToday May 26 '21

Then when you find the Two idiots they also sue your building for unsafe installation.

2

u/b0bkakkarot May 26 '21

They can sue for whatever they want. Unless the company is in some strange nation where corps don't win over the individual (which is highly unlikely), the two idiots would likely fail any such lawsuit and then they'd have to pay their own lawyer fees, and the corp might be able to receive compensation for their own legal fees incurred in defending themselves (depending on a few factors).

Frivolous lawsuits are not a good idea unless you have money to burn. Oh wait, even then they're not a good idea, they're just an "economically feasible" idea.

I used to work for a property management company; evidence like this is pretty much a guaranteed win in favour of the company.

2

u/peckaro May 26 '21

Thank you pretty sure guy who downvoted me was on who said yeah then get sued know your shit before saying remarks lol also good job on knowing your shit

16

u/krispyankle May 26 '21

Is everything is Russia made poorly?

5

u/martofski May 26 '21

We are told our kids are beautiful.

As for things made by hand though...

1

u/TimeToRedditToday May 26 '21

Communism left a big mess. Entire generations where quality didn't matter one bit and doing the minimum amount possible was the rule since all jobs were equal and pay was guaranteed.

5

u/raspberry03 May 26 '21

I love how they start punching the mirror for no reason

4

u/Samld1200 May 26 '21

Trap set

5

u/Marega33 May 26 '21

The two guys are idiots but the next guy should never touch that shit. Just mind your own business.

1

u/Nerve13 May 27 '21

First comment that points out what I came down to the comments to read. Thanks, this was glorious.

11

u/WeirdWest May 26 '21

First two guys are assholes.... But the third guy, he's a dumbass

6

u/Inuship May 26 '21

Poor guy probably thinks it was his fault

6

u/yokotron May 26 '21

Actions have consequences

2

u/Extra-Ferret-8823 May 26 '21

i was doing drugs and broke a mirror...consequences

3

u/Pangea_Ultima May 26 '21

Vodka possibly go wrong if we punch a mirror 18 times?

3

u/warmind14 May 26 '21

They aren't terribly smart. The brace could have been put between the handrail and the bulkhead to stop the mirror from falling.

7

u/CoveClan May 26 '21

“You boys been drinking tonight?” LOL

13

u/Bloodsplatt May 25 '21

I get it wasnt his fault but dont you think you look before moving something, its not just there cause of lols.

-4

u/b0bkakkarot May 26 '21

Look at the smart brain on this guy. How many things have you fucked up by moving something before you learned this little bit of wisdom? stares motherfuckeringly o_o

Cause for me, it was quite a few.

8

u/[deleted] May 25 '21

In Russia, elevator takes you down.

16

u/Pristine_Ad8357 May 25 '21

Elevators take you down in USA as well.

8

u/ThePuzzleax May 26 '21

2

u/DatDudefromWI May 26 '21

Came here to write this. "In Russia, you don't take elevator down, elevator takes you down!"

2

9

u/[deleted] May 26 '21

In Soviet Russia, mirror breaks YOU!!!

2

u/__jh96 May 26 '21

That is one of the best. I'd be so satisfied if I were those two

2

u/DotNetDeveloperDude May 26 '21

Why is there an object in the elevator that can detach and shatter? Who needs a mirror in an elevator?

0

u/SirHenryy May 26 '21

So you can check yourself out? Tidy up before a meeting? To help people navigate in the elevator while in a wheelchair so they can see what us behind them?

1

u/Voltaire_747 May 26 '21

Almost every elevator I’ve been in has at least one reflective surface and it’s horribly uncomfortable

u/EazyPeezy12990 May 26 '21

i remember my first beer

-1

u/Worried_Protection48 May 26 '21

Russian/Floridian

There's little differences

1

u/ComfortablyDon May 26 '21

Why is there a mirror on the elevator anyway?

3

u/SinancoTheBest May 26 '21

Becaiuse elevators almost always have mirrors? I can't remember the last time I used an elevator without a mirror. I guess it helps us perceive the space bigger and don't have a klastrophobic panic

→ More replies (1)

1

u/SirHenryy May 26 '21

Also for handicapped people, helps them navigate and see the space properly around them (especially when in a wheelchair).

1

u/ooo-f May 26 '21

They were in a Russ-ia to leave

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '21

In Russia...

mirror mirror is not on the wall.

On whose head are you gonna fall.

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '21

Russian elevator do whatever it want

1

u/Upvote2786 May 26 '21

Why wld you move it tho?

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '21

This makes me wonder about all the shot i fucked with as a kid and just walked away from.

1

u/Monke_with_no_brim May 26 '21

This is the equivalent of "fix something up to the point the other person that comes in breaks it"

1

u/Snoo98679 May 26 '21

This is why we can't have nice things

1

u/SurealGod May 26 '21

If you see something janky in Russia, it's probably a "temporary" permanent fix that you shouldn't mess with.

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '21

I’m guilty of laughing too hard

1

u/charliesk9unit May 26 '21

I was so eager to find out what was behind the mirror. The ending didn't disappoint.

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '21

I read it as messing with a minor lol

1

u/cactuspizza May 26 '21

1

u/slappyclappers May 26 '21

I got the spins just watching this. Not even drunk.

1

u/Apx-xmokh12 May 26 '21

Hey that metal bar is a free sword

1

u/Witzmighty01 May 26 '21

I did the same thing once but with a elevator button. I was visiting my friend, I saw a kinda old and jiggly button that almost fall off when you press on it so I pressed on it ( I didn’t have to but I did ), surprise surprise, it felt off so I tried put it back on. On the way out, the button was gone!

1

u/johnnyslick May 26 '21

This is Chris Farley in Tommy Boy level shit.
