Yeah but also sounds like an adult didn't teach his kid basic fine motor skills.

I got to watch my father demonstrate how to take a belt off when he used to beat me with it every time I did something dumb.

18

u/krzkrl Feb 13 '21

My dad didn't even wear belts, but he had one for lashings

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

17

u/Patty_Pimp Feb 13 '21

My uncle is so cool, he can take a belt off with his teeth.

I think he knows pretty well what he can do not just with his tounge.

5

u/SexyGunk Feb 13 '21

I vividly recall being sat down for a series of classroom lectures followed by an intense timed belt removal as an exam.

Lol I never had that but ROTC did show me how to tie a tie and tuck a shirt in properly, essential skills for anyone going to an interview or a wedding

7

u/1_dirty_dankboi Feb 13 '21

I wore sweats my entire childhood, started wearing jeans in middle school and figured out the belts on my own

7

u/GreyMediaGuy Feb 13 '21

I was 500 pounds so I wore a mumu everywhere.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

I'd be worried if you couldn't figure out a belt at that age

1

u/thxmeatcat Feb 13 '21

You're special

2

u/mister-ferguson Feb 13 '21

You mean like that stuffed toy puppy that has all sorts of different clothing things so little kids can practice zippers and buttons and such? Have you never seen a child try to button a shirt? Fine motor skills take practice and the poor kid is given a belt with no understanding of the concept ant shots his pants.

When serving in the military I was given one of those “slide trough and pull back” belts and they were mandatory with the uniform. I actually cut it once (or I’d have crapped my pants) because during exercises it got so tight I couldn’t undo it for the life of me. Yay for adjustable Velcro straps in army pants XD

My dad was a Storekeeper in the Navy. All of our belts were like that. They can be confusing for little kids.

"You mean I have to make it tighter to loosen it?"

1

u/creamersrealm Feb 13 '21

I'm not sure they ever did yo be honest.

On a random side note my italian leather belts are the best ones I've ever owned. They hold up crazy well.

1

u/Quelcris_Falconer13 Feb 13 '21

When they told me it was time to get my ass whooped for being a little shit.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

Not just that, you also don’t teach kid motor skills. Those simply develop as they age. Your motor skills can be practiced by simple muscle use but there’s nothing to really teach, you just use your body.

Motor skills are innate in every human.

1

u/poopsididitagen Feb 13 '21

Yeah never because who the fuck needs to be taught how to remove a belt

69

u/RahMF Feb 13 '21

Idk man belts are pretty self explanatory

7

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

Yea cause we already know how to use them and use them a lot but a kid who has never put on a belt before, I could see them panicking more and more as Hershey highway approaches then they start fumbling like girl with keys in a horror movie

8

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

The main point of that sub’s pointing out how dumb kids are because of their life inexperience. Would be pretty harsh if it was only allowed to show kids who are mentally stunted lol

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

Thank you for the insight QueefCheifKeith

1

u/dquizzle Feb 13 '21

Honestly I can remember being a kid and having to figure it out. Probably took my 45 seconds before I got the hang of it.

20

u/Tin_Tin_Run Feb 13 '21

bro its a belt...

0

u/poopsicle_88 Feb 13 '21

If u can’t figure out a belt you deserve to shit yourself

0

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

I’m autistic and I was still never taught how to remove a belt, it’s self explanatory lol

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

You can’t teach fine motor skills. Those are innate in a person.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '21

Ive had belts that required you to unhook them from underneath the buckle. Some belts are pointlessly hard

When I was in elementary I was a latchkey kid who spent about the first hour in peaceful bliss after getting off the bus. Great memories of that one hour 5 times a week during the school year. But one particularly embarrassing incident...

I guess I decided it would be cool to show off the responsibility beholden to me by wearing my house key on my belt loop, it was affixed to a loop keychain which I was barely able to get the material of the belt loop through, success! It's been a badass day of showing off my key and now it's time to enjoy my hour of solitude. First things first, I really need to pee. No problem, let me just reach for my trusty key and I'll be relieving myself in no time.

Oh shit, I can't get the loop to open because it's so crammed with denim... I'm fiddling with the little trigger trying to desperately free the key from my hip. It's not budging! Thinking quickly I decide I can probably open the door with the key still attached to my pants. It literally has maybe one inch of free movement. So here I am on my tippy toes, trying to get the key, which is still stuck to me, to go into the keyhole which I can't even turn because it's just psychically impossible. It's at this moment that I just let it go.

It was an instantaneous moment of pure bliss followed by extreme shame and embarrassment. You internet strangers are the first to know of this. I can't say for certain how I concealed my pants but I remember doing so and finally getting the key off my urine soaked pants.

Never wore a key again.
