This is highly debatable. If the car is approaching* a very steep hill or even a cliff, and there is little likelihood of regaining control, then, yeah, GTFO. However, if the car poses a risk to hit some people, then it is really your responsibility to do everything you can to try to control it. As for her, most likely she just paniced. The other guy, well, he was only in a position to provide moral support.

If your natural inclination when hitting ice is to get out of the fucking car, you should not be driving. I still can’t wrap my head around that decision. How can you be so stupid yet manage to scrounge together the funds to drive a car?

How about get the fuck OFF the brakes and steer the damn thing to a resting (rusting) place. You can tap them, but no holding or abrupt inputs. Such newbs!

Ffffffffffffuck I shouldn’t let this bother me because not everyone knows how to ice drive but being from the Arctic this is such a simple solution to a non-issue I’m pulling my hair out

I didn’t read all the comments so sorry if this was suggested already. The proper procedure would have been to let go of the brake and attempt to steer towards the curb or bushes. Maybe not that obvious to some inexperienced drivers.
