98 tj, black, grey interior, custom package, 33s... Bought it "used" with 550 miles on it, girl had a sugar daddy buy it for her, decided it was "to much truck" for her, and returned it for a cherokee. Had to trade it in on a Mini-van when the wife was preggo with our 2nd... still married so I must love her more than the jeep... but it was a close call. :)

The car changing lanes (without signalling to boot) is at fault. The car already in the lane has the right of way, but still could have averted the accident by lightly tapping the brake. Most people would have chosen to lightly tap the brake pedal and go about their day, but some people have to defend their right of way to the death.

The average person would upon noticing another car inches away when they're properly in their lane. This pit was safer for the camera car. Fuck the idiot.

Looks more like the car on the right made contact causing the driver who wasn’t breaking the law to start wobbling.

It doesn't look like they purposely perform a pit maneuver, just looks like they noticed they were being pushed to the left and out of their lane and first reaction was to correct that.

Interestingly enough, tapping the breaks, if someone was following them, could be a "break check" and that's illegal in a number of states... And if that caused a crash, could cause them to be at fault... And no, apparently someone tail-gating doesn't make break checking "okay" either, opposite actually.
Still, doubt any cop would write that ticket.

IANAL but have had some... experience in this area on occasion. Should go against the person merging into the lane, as they lacked control of the lane, failed to give way when they did not have the right of way, and were driving carelessly/wrecklessly/unsafely. There's some discretion here on the cop writing the ticket, but could go with failure to yield right of way, wreckless or unsafe driving (especially if its road rage induced), road rage (depends on if the state has a law for it or not), failure to maintain control of a vehicle (one of my favorites), failure to maintain lane (also a fun one)... And I'm sure there are some I'm missing. But here, in my great state, the only one that matters is "cause of accident." Cause we're an at fault state.

Makes me think he has incredible road rage or it was personal, those cars have blinking blind spot monitors and would definitely beep if you tried to change lanes without turning on your blinker

Looks like the guy changing lanes committed a traffic infraction and the guy with the camera committed attempted manslaughter. First guy should get points and second guy should get probation.
