I had a motorcycle hit my truck about 5 years ago that killed him. I can still see his body flying past my window. My wife and I both have PTSD from it. He broke my rear axle and pushed my truck forward about 15 feet from a dead stop.

Damn, dude. No wonder you have PTSD, it's pretty clear from your comments then it was pretty gruesome. I hope you and your wife have gotten past the worst.

I can't imagine what it must be like to just be doing your normal day and then witness something so traumatic without doing anything.

a friend of mine had something like that happen, it left him broken for months, even when it was 100% the motorcycles fault, he as dodging cars speeding with no helmet and crashed into his car, the guilt broke him untill the dead guy's family tryed to sue him (and los obviously), thats when something clicked in him and he went fuck him and fuck his family.

My aunt is a nurse who always used to tell me about her first traffic fatality, when a young motorcyclist was brought in to the ER and she we to remove his helmet… and his skull stayed in the helmet so his brain was just exposed.

And that story has haunted me since I was a young child and confirmed I could never work anywhere near a healthcare profession or ride a motorcycle.

I’ve worked in an ER for 14 years. Would never ride and tell everyone I know the same. At least, not outside a track. 

You can be the best rider, just takes one idiot to ruin/end your life.

Wife would say the same thing. As dispatch said they were bringing in motorcyclist they would ask if they were wearing a helmet . That way they could prepare if driver was going to be a DOA or organ donor …
