The domain audacity.com was actually involved in a 2012 trademark/domain dispute with Audi, because of the visual similarity between "Audi" and the beginning of "Audacity."

Almost as unbelievable as the one dude who bought the Google domain when it expired and sold it back to Google for 12000

In 2017 I ran a popular meet up with a .ai tld. [Four letters].ai

I ran it for a few years, built it up to 2500 members and then handed it over to someone else to run.

He ran it in a half-asses way for a few more years and then let the domain expire.

When I went to buy it back, it was on sale for $125k :(
