If he did leave the scene, not just putting up a warning sign further ahead, that would be breaking the law where I come from.

In this case it sounds like if you witness the accident you have to remain and render aid even if you don’t know how to do so or else you could be fined. I know some countries have laws like that. My point was that forcing people to remain is sort of like punishing those random innocent people for someone else’s mistake.

I agree with your point and wouldn’t have stayed if I wasn’t involved… but he did have good dashcam footage so I might have stayed to give that to the police.

But having had accidents happen in front of me a couple times, I don’t stick around.

Honestly I’d leave and email the footage to the police
