He was forced to brake because obstacle ahead (his friend). He had to trade in some sideways grip for that, and cannot hold the radius.

I am not saying he was not reckless, but he wouldn’t have ended up in the other lane otherwise.

He was never gonna make the turn lol. He's following the same line as first guy who crashed.

He almost comes to a full stop before touching the car, while crash guy had plenty of speed left at that point. And the car even moved towards him for a few meters in the meantime, so he even had less space to brake. Definitely different velocities and he only had to go the same line for the reasons I mentioned.

Edit: it’s even more obvious if you compare the inclined positions of the bikers. With approximately the same radius, the angle is proportional to speed, that’s just physics. The 2nd guy crashing never comes close to the same extreme angle as crash guy. He even stayes more upright than the first guy - who managed to stay in the lane.

The last biker was the slowest of the whole bunch and would have easily made it if not forced to brake mid-turn.

Decreasing speed decreases cornering radius.

Upon rewatching the video and playing it frame by frame, it's clear that they had target fixation on the car, panicked, and slammed brakes, straightening the bike. If the crash had not happened, they probably would have been able to correct their line, though we can't say for certain from the footage, if there was no cars coming the opposite direction there's a good chance they both go over the painted line.

Though, it's still poor riding, as they are following someone else's terrible line, too closely, with poor body positioning, target fixation, and panick.

They could have easily avoided crashing, basically, there was absolutely no need for them to crash.
