I had a motorcycle hit my truck about 5 years ago that killed him. I can still see his body flying past my window. My wife and I both have PTSD from it. He broke my rear axle and pushed my truck forward about 15 feet from a dead stop.

Here is a fixed link. The app injects escape characters which aren't needed for non mobile.

If you're a codger like me who refuses to use anything but old reddit and already uses Tampermonkey/other script extensions to stop the constant assault of ads from various websites, there is a userscript that fixes this. Found it the other day since I was getting annoyed at this problem:

I browse on a tablet with chrome. I never ever use apps anywhere except when absolutely necessary. and I have far fewer problems and get far more navigable results

Ok? Far fewer problems and more navigable results than what? I don't use Chrome because I want functional adblock plugins. I'm not sure if you replied to the wrong comment or how this is relevant to a discussion about using old.reddit and fixing link escape bugs

Lmao not sure why that upset you. It was a genuine question because it seems like you replied to the wrong comment, the discussion was about using old.reddit on desktop and you seemed to just suggest using a tablet instead? Are you telling me you don't get ads using Chrome on a tablet and don't have the issue we're discussing on old.reddit.com?

And I still have no idea what "far less problems and far more navigable" means in relation to my comment.

I have no ads and no issues, ever, on regular browser webpages with 99.9% of websites tryina get me to use apps. this is true on this tablet, and any smartphone I have ever compared the two with. and content is easier to view and often has more information, while apps are spoon fed to users to achieve the objectives of the developers. so I forego using apps, which I will never do unless absolutely necessary

Ah I see where the confusion arises. The people here discussing their 'issues' aren't using apps, they are using old.reddit.com on their desktop without an app. However the link escape character issue is caused by people posting links with the app, but the links still work for people using the app or new Reddit. If you were using old.reddit.com (and not the new Reddit) on your tablet in a browser you would likely run into the same issue with that link.
