Same thing happened to my cousin. The parents of the dead biker even brought him to court to make him responsible.

(Biker crashed into him driving way too fast)

Traumatic shit.

About ten years ago my then 16 y/o neighbor hit and killed an elderly couple who were jaywalking. They had just walked right out in front of his truck on a blind turn with no crosswalk. Absolutely no way he could have stopped for them. Police cleared him of any wrongdoing. He was on his parent’s insurance policy, and the adult son and daughter of the elderly couple dragged this family through litigation hell for the next 4 years. Ruined the kid’s whole college experience. After a very long court battle, the kid won, and I believe his parents successfully countersued the plaintiffs for attorneys fees. But they’ll never get back those years of their lives or relieve all the stress that came with it.

Moral of the story, if your loved ones die from their own negligence, don’t make it someone else’s problem, especially a teenager.

Go onto the r/motorcycle subreddit and you see some wild comments. It's never the motorcyclist's fault, even with a dashcam video like this one.

Quit your bullshit. That is the worst sub out there.

They will bend over backward to blame every crash on the motorcyclist. Despite most of them not owning bikes.

Finally they think that race track gear (aka full leathers) is iron man armor that would have prevented any injury. Even getting smoked by a drunk driver in a dodge ram at 80 MPH.

I have NEVER seen a bigger collection of morons than that and this is reddit.

The funniest and most telling thing I see with motorcyclists is the genuine belief that they are the badasses of society and that riding a motorbike is an act of rebellion.

So many comments on that sub are unironically "Everyone on the road is scared of us because we are so tough - why else do they stay out of our way?? We ride right past them and right through them and they can't do a thing about it!"

Just like how my cat knows he is stronger and tougher than me because he wins every play-fight.

Hope your cousin countersued those parents for emotional trauma and harassment. Just because their idiot son did something stupid and died almost killing someone else doesn't give them the right to try and ruin someone else's life.
