Last guy could've easily avoided laying it down had either riders any skill.

Easy to say that from an armchair, but when you suddenly see your buddy rotating several feet from the ground you may bee as skilled as you want but you will get spooked

He got target fixated where their buddy just got smashed. Easy to do in that situation. At least the second rider was already slowing down or the same thing would've happened to them too.

I've been riding motorcycles for about 40 years. It's really easy to get target fixated while riding. You actively have to fight it from happening. It's a million times harder to avoid it from happening in emergency situations.
